From Fresh Winter Squash to Puree

What you can do with all of those squash!
Squash color comparison Step 1: Wash the outside of the squash. Bake smaller ones whole. Cut larger ones in half, placing the open side down in a small amount of water.  Bake at 350° F until a fork goes into the baked squash easily.
Squash color comparison Step 2:  Let the baked squash cool. The moisture will separate the skin from the meat of the squash.  Here are four  different kinds of winter squash grown at www.bluestarfarmny.com.  The skin peeled off easily.
De-seeding Roasted Pumkin with Fork Step 3:  Cut the squash in half and rake out the seeds.
Pureeing Roasted Squash Step 4:  Cut squash into pieces.  Puree in a blender or food processor.
